New Yorkers Hate Obama!

Just kidding, but that may be what a bunch of idiots at airports and convenience stores across the country are thinking right about now, because this week's New Yorker cover depicts the future Mr. and Mrs. President as anti-American militants with a hard on for bin Laden.

Personally, I think it's hilarious. But most of all, it serves as a point of discussion for the ludicrous claims being made about Obama, which are so numerous that his campaign has a frequently updated fact checking section of their website where they respond to most of the bullshit the media pull out from the asshole of the American subconscious.

As Art Spiegelman said on NPR, people who believe that Obama is a Muslim (apparently, 50% of CBS viewers) are not going to be swayed otherwise, so we may as well just ridicule them, forming a coalition of those in the know.

I say, let the media explain the nature of satire to an ignorant American public. It will do nothing but good things for Obama. For instance, if Fox News talked about this in one of their weird moral stance moves, they'd be forced to admit that the claims which the image satirizes are false.

I think this is all great, despite what Obama's campaign says about it being offensive. As Spiegelman said, the New Yorker did not create this image, they just brought it to the surface for the American people to lance. En garde!

Something else to remember: Should it matter if Obama is a Muslim?
