Pneu Rave

Art Nite
Austin, TX

Cantanker is putting out their sixth annual issue. Themed "Transitions," the art will be available to view at Big Medium from August 30 - September 20 by appointment only. But, of course, you don't need an appointment for the opening reception Saturday night, starting at 8pm.

Also starting at 8pm (I don't know what I'm going to do about this) is a poetry reading at Domy Books. There's a new literary zine, Boho Coco, by the people at Austinnewblog. They're going to have an evening of readings and music and drinks? from 8-9:30pm.

Which is just enough time for you to get to Club de Ville for the first chords of Hollywood Gossip (10pm), who will replace International Waters at our release party. Also playing: Lady Pterodactyl, A Faulty Chromosome, and Learning Secrets will DJ after midnight, due to the infinite wisdom of the City of Austin, who decided to appease the intrepid yuppies of Red River by instituting a soul-crushing noise ordinance.

Ironically, or not, the ordinance only pertains to live bands, so we're gonna continue to rock the mother out with the sublime sounds of Ian Orth and company.

Celebrate the new issue with us, get it for free (with entrance), and say goodbye to me.

Pyrite Radio

Do you like to danse macabre? I do every once in a while. If you couldn't tell, this is dance music. (35:22) of dance music. From now on I'm not going to include these mixes with the rest. It's an entirely different vegetable.

Also, this one is being hosted online, so you can listen to it whenevs. Click the picture (duh). Did you know that, according to NME, who coined the term, New Rave is dead. Long live music.

Peas and carrots, man. Peas and carrots.
